Royal Russell Junior School Officially Opens Its Doors
Stephen Bennett and Chris Kearsley attended the opening of the new Royal Russell Junior School in Croydon last week, alongside the client and wider project team.
Desco delivered the mechanical and electrical services design for the new two-storey Junior School, which provides general teaching areas and bespoke facilities for science, art and design, music and drama, enhancing the learning experience of the campus’s younger students.
The project was selected to take part in the pilot testing for the new UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard, helping to shape a consistent approach to defining and assessing net zero carbon performance. Through this process, Desco and project partners were able to test the building against the emerging standard while contributing valuable insight into its practical application across the sector.
The school was designed to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating and officially opens its doors this week to staff and students.
