New Health Centre Opens in Wallsend
Desco designed the MEP services for the newly opened Hadrian Health Centre in Wallsend which welcomed its first patients on 19th December 2022
Hadrian Health Centre is a new £9 million development in Wallsend providing a new home for 2 GP practices with first class facilities offering a full range of primary care services alongside a range of community healthcare services.
Desco designed the mechanical and electrical services for the new health centre which welcomed its first patients in December 2022. The centre was designed and built to provide modern, environmentally friendly, state-of-the-art facilities and features solar photo voltaic panels on the roof to limit the electricity required from the grid and reducing the all-electric building’s carbon footprint.
The new health centre includes both consulting and treatment rooms, light and airy spaces for patients and dedicated training areas for doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals as well as offering convenient links to public transport and offering ample nearby parking for patients and staff.
The centre is managed by Assura who funded the development and are a national primary care premises specialist who develop, invest in and manage a portfolio of primary care medical centres across the UK.
