Jessica Receives Prestigious Award for Championing Building Services Engineering
We’re delighted to congratulate Jessica Selkirk on receiving The Alfred Leung Memorial Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Promoting Building Services Engineering Across the Community.
Jessica was presented with the award at the School of Built Environment, Engineering and Computing Prize Giving Ceremony on Monday 13th July in Leeds, recognising her exceptional commitment to championing and promoting the building services engineering profession.
Jessica has dedicated countless hours to inspiring the next generation of engineers through careers events, school engagement activities and hands on workshops, helping raise awareness of building services engineering and showcasing the exciting and rewarding opportunities our industry has to offer.
Her passion for encouraging young people to explore engineering careers, combined with her enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and experiences has made a valuable impact across the community and embodies the spirit of this prestigious award.
Adding to an already memorable week, the ceremony took place just one day before Jessica’s graduation, where she achieved a First Class Honours degree in Building Services Engineering, a fantastic accomplishment and testament to her hard work and dedication.
Having been named Leeds Beckett University School of Built Environment, Engineering and Computing Apprentice of the Year in 2025 and now receiving The Alfred Leung Memorial Prize, Jessica’s achievements reflect not only her academic success, but also her commitment to championing building services engineering and inspiring future generations.
