Leading the Conversation on Decarbonisation at Footprint+ 2026

A great couple of days at FOOTPRINT+ in London, bringing together industry leaders and practitioners focused on driving meaningful change across the built environment.

Desco’s Jake Timothy-Dorward hosted the session “Decarbonisation of Heat: Navigating the Policy Landscape” alongside a panel of fellow professionals. The discussion explored what the transition to a zero carbon built environment really means in practice, from the role of low carbon technologies and electrification, to the growing impact of policy and legislation across different sectors.

The session sparked some interesting conversations around how the UK can accelerate the shift to low carbon heating in buildings, from adopting electrification and heat pumps to navigating new policies and standards. They discussed how stricter legislation and upcoming regulations will influence our path to Net Zero, while also highlighting the real world challenges and opportunities in decarbonising buildings across different sectors.

Thanks to FOOTPRINT+ for another insightful event and to everyone who joined the discussion, plenty to take away as we continue pushing for a more sustainable, resilient built environment.
