The Halls, Wolverhampton Highly Commended at CE West Midlands Awards 2024

The Halls Wolverhampton was highly commended at this year’s Constructing Excellence West Midlands Awards.

The Halls Wolverhampton, a Grade II listed building, received a highly commended award in the Regeneration and Retrofit category at the Constructing Excellence West Midlands Awards ceremony, which was held on Thursday 2nd May 2024.

The award highlights projects that apply the Constructing Excellence principles to deliver better outcomes for an existing asset including historic and heritage sites. Constructing Excellence West Midlands awards celebrate projects which demonstrate the core strength of construction across the West Midlands and the desire and commitment of businesses to deliver projects in a collaborative and sustainable manner.

The £38m project saw Wolverhampton Civic Hall undergo a major refurbishment, making the building fit for the 21st century increasing its capacity by almost 1,000 across the two halls. Improvements were made across the venue, including an increase in seating and bars and toilet facilities were improved and new balconies were fitted in both halls.

The project team included, Space & Place, Faithful & Gould, Furness, Atkins Realis and Wilmott Dixon Interiors.
