Highlight Wellbeing Hub Hartlepool
Desco designed the mechanical, electrical and pool water services for the new multi-million-pound leisure centre development, named by the public as Highlight, next to Hartlepool Marina.
Highlight Wellbeing Hub includes a 25m eight-lane main pool, a 25m four-lane learner pool with a movable floor, a leisure pool including race slide and water play features, spectator seating, a 100-station gym, two inter-connected fitness studios, an indoor cycling studio, active and soft play areas, a party room, a café, and external ground and first-floor terraces.
The facility has also been developed to provide a range of NHS services including physiotherapy, cardiac rehabilitation and some maternity services.
The development is surrounded by informal outdoor event and activity spaces to support walking, cycling, running and outdoor fitness, with connections for water sports, utilising Hartlepool Marina’s facilities.
