Beamish Football Centre
Beamish Football Centre underwent a £1.6m upgrade to their training facilities, along with a new bar and function space.
The refurbishment of the two-storey football centre included new changing rooms, a function room, kitchen, servery, youth area and office space, as well offering better, greener and more accessible facilities.
The centre also features a balcony and tiered seating overlooking the pitches, enhancing the match day experience for spectators. The centre will also provides a central community hub for the local community, with a particular focus on young people.
The training facilities were also upgraded, as well as an indoor training space for education and fitness being created.
Desco designed the mechanical and electrical services for the refurbishment and replacement of the low temperature hot water heating plant, and hot water generation, including the existing gas fired boilers and associated circulating pumps, pressurisation units and expansion vessels.
The design had a focus on sustainability and efficiency and achieved a 60% reduction in running costs through the integration of renewable technologies such as photovoltaic solar panels and battery storage.
