Ground breaking ceremony for Therme Manchester
Desco are excited to be involved in the Therme Manchester project alongside Sir Robert McAlpine and Therme, which held its ground breaking ceremony on Friday.
We were delighted to attend the ground breaking ceremony on site at Therme Manchester on Friday 12th September. The event brought together local leaders, partners and community members to celebrate the beginning of the construction work for the landmark development and was marked with a commemorative spade for businesses involved in the project.
Therme Manchester will be the UK’s first large-scale spa facility, following the success of Therme Bucharest.
Working alongside Sir Robert McAlpine, Desco are assisting Therme Group with the MEP services design for the 11.5-hectare site in Manchester, which will sit south of the Bridgewater Canal in Trafford City.
The resort will include multi-sensory sauna rituals, steam rooms, over 25 water slides, a wave pool and affordable luxury across spa therapies, health and fitness experiences, blended with the ancient tradition of healing thermal waters.
