A Collaborative First Chapter for the One Swim England Summit
Great to have been a part of the conversation at the first ever One Swim England Summit yesterday.
Danny Strickland and Steven Sibley attended the Summit and hosted a session focused on one of the biggest challenges facing the aquatic sector: how we manage rising operational costs while still delivering high quality, resilient facilities.
Their session, “Staying Afloat: Managing Operational Costs Through Smart Energy Design”, explored how the sector is moving away from legacy, energy hungry pool designs towards high performance facilities that use better technology, better commissioned, better monitored and ultimately more efficient to operate. Discussion covered the real world performance of technologies such as heat pumps, solar PV and pool covers, field trials for emerging technologies, alongside the growing importance of whole life carbon and long term operational thinking.
It was a great day of collaboration, knowledge sharing and open discussion with operators, asset owners and project teams from across the industry, a real opportunity to share practical insight from projects already delivering results on the ground.
Thanks to Swim England for bringing the sector together, and to everyone who joined the session and contributed to the conversation.
