York Community Stadium
The new City of York Community Stadium will combine a new 8000 capacity sports venue, providing a home to both York City Football Club and York Knights Rugby League Football Club, with a range of education, hospitality, retail and community sport, leisure and swimming facilities.
At the heart of the complex is the Community Hub, made up of key tenants including York NHS Trust, York St John’s University, Independent Living Assessment Centre, and Gateway Library. The Community Hub will draw in a wide range of York residents from all aspects of the community providing them with valuable services.
We were appointed to take an overseeing role on the M&E design, providing an independent consultancy service to City of York Council. The role has comprised our appraisal of D&B operator’s proposals, recommendations on preferred bidder appointment, attendance at progress meetings, monitoring and reporting on progress and quality on site, preparation of defects lists, and inspection at completion.
With such a broad ranging mix of end users and complex blend of stakeholder interest in this development, we have been required to ensure we are fully conversant with all of the legal requirements and regulations including design guidance from bodies such as the Football Association, York NHS Trust, York St John’s University, Sport England, and Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group (PWTAG).
