Desco were appointed by the Cumberland Pencil Company to design the M&E services for their new head office and production facility at Lillyhall in Cumbria.

The pencil company relocated their operation from their old factory in Keswick, which was no longer suitable for the modern manufacturing methods used today, to the purpose built premises in early 2008.

The new factory provides a modern facility for the company’s activities and incorporates many environmental features, such as rainwater harvesting, daylight sensor lighting and wood waste recycling to provide heat for the factory.
