David is a very experienced building services engineer with an electrical bias. He served his
apprenticeship with a local council before joining a national engineering consultancy where he
worked his way quickly through the ranks. He was one of the founding directors of Desco,
spending three years developing the practice before leaving to pursue other opportunities.
David made a welcome return to the practice in September 2007 having spent the previous
three years in the rapidly developing Middle East country of Qatar. Working as a client’s
representative for Qatar Petroleum, David was part of a Special Projects Division appointed
by the Qatari government to procure and project manage a number of major landmark
construction projects totalling a value in excess of £1 billion.
David takes responsibility for one of the design teams in the Sunderland office and for the
technical delivery of a number of the practice’s major projects.
